Mazi was established in 1999 as an educational, social-cultural organization, to provide support in a safe and accepting environment for gay Greek-Americans, who seek social and educational exchange with other gay men and lesbians of Greek ancestry.

This web site is being continued and supported in order to promote these goals, and to provide current information of interest to gay Greeks, including links to other organizations and events, that may be of benefit. The site will also attempt to focus awareness on the needs and problems faced by gay and lesbian Greek-Americans (particularly in dealing with the larger Greek-American community), as well as raise awareness of the contributions of gay Greek-Americans to society.
